Accompanied each day by Sébastien Zanella, participants will live the artist’s daily life, a path that will bring them before vast natural expanses that are conducive to contemplation; Experimentations with surfing and movement through photography or its practice; Development of one’s relationship to the world and the other, through each person’s artistic prism.
The residency will include individual sessions wherein each participant will take the time to talk about their experiences, their relationship to photography and/or film, as well as their desires, sensitivities and interests.
Portraiture, street photography, documentary photography, film, commercial shooting – all facets of image making will be addressed during the workshop’s daily outings. Each person will have the opportunity to develop or assert one's vision.

Director, documentary filmmaker and photographer, Sebastien Zanella creates provocative films and images that explore freedom of expression and the human condition in global skateboarding, surfing and street culture.
Zanella’s signature poetic style is at once haunting and captivating. His artistic approach to composition and use of natural ambient light results in truly stylistic and emotive storytelling that leave a lasting impression on the viewer. His short films have featured some of the biggest names in skateboarding, including Erik Koston, Dane Reynolds, John John Florence, Eric Ellington, Dylan Rieder and Alex Knost, gaining aclaim on Vimeo with regular Staff Pick awards,cand shared on leading publications Hypebeast, Cool Hunting, Highsnobiety and Thrasher among others.
Sought out for his unique and authentic approach to storytelling and cinematic approach to filmaking, Zanella has worked with brands such as: Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chloe, Lee, Porsche ,Tudor, Ducati, Samsung, Citroen, Canon and Panasonic.
Zanella is also the founder and editor-in-chief of Desillusion Magazine, an online and print publication dedicated to a youth who grew up on a skate or surf board.
Nestled between the Landes forest and the Atlantic Ocean, Hossegor is a famous French seaside destination known for being home to some of the world’s most beautiful waves.

Home of Sebastien Zanella and his “muse” Marie-Laure, the creator of "Le monde est à Nous," the house his filled with objects, photographs and furniture that they have collected from their travels around the globe or on outings to their favorite thrift shops. The decor changes with each season, becoming more cozy in winter, contrasting with the light curtains that dance with the breeze in summer. Their furniture is a mix of new and vintage styles with an eclectic, bohemian touch and a passion for details.
From within, you will enjoy the quiet wooden house surrounded by a big deck with a pond below. On the walls hangs their own artwork along with that of other artist friends. This home’s laid-back atmosphere seems to effortlessly invite and nurture love and creativity.
